Slashing! Or How to Score a Loaf
Here's a question for you bread bakers. Do you slash the top of your loaf before baking? Sometimes I do but I am never sure where or how to slash. Here's a handy little chart that answers all those slashing queries.
I usually slash the top of a loaf before baking. I think it makes the finished loaf look nice. I think it's also supposed to help with the rise? Lots of ideas for pretty patterns in your chart!
