Chocolate Cookie Pumpkin Patch

When I was a little girl Halloween was one of my favourite holidays.  It was second only to Christmas.  We would plot and plan for weeks, trying to construct the best Halloween costume possible out of bits and pieces of junk and old clothes.  Boxes became robots and gypsy fortune tellers needed only a good swirly skirt and an arm full of bangles.  We didn't buy or rent costumes, that would be cheating!

I don't dress up anymore but still like baking Halloween treats like these Chocolate Pumpkin Cookies.  A few days ago we baked chocolate bat cookies.  These are made from the same chocolate cutout cookie recipe so you could make half the dough into bats and half into pumpkins.

I used a very simple icing to decorate these pumpkins but you could use Royal Icing or coloured sugar sprinkles.

So get baking and make your own Halloween Pumpkin Patch!

    1. I love the scary cat, too. It was a gift from my Mum-n-Law and is perfect for Halloween. This chocolate cut out cookie recipe is really tasty and easy to make. My decorating technique needs LOTS of work. I suppose that means I need to bake more cookies! : )

    1. You are very kind. I don't do decorative icing so there is room for LOTS of improvement. You have to start somewhere, so it might as well be in the pumpkin patch!
