DIY Haircut HOW TO

Fringe is a funny thing. One day it's the perfect length....the next morning you can't see out from under it.  The stuff grows overnight!  Oh sorry, when I say 'FRINGE' I mean 'BANGS'.  It's one of those words that has a completely different meaning in the States.

Now, I don't go to the hairdressers often, maybe four times a year, but you have to keep that fringe under control.  I've learned it's best to trim it myself. It may seem obsessive but I trim it about every two weeks, taking just a tiny snip off at a time.   I've just tried a new technique.  It's called Twist Cutting and it really gives the fringe a nice shape and it's EASY to do.

  1. My fringe drives me nuts, it grows so quick, I used to have quite short hair, but have spent the last two years growing it to shoulder length, although it can be a pain some days I do love it. You have the same colour as me, I have a perm at the moment, but usually it is very fine.

    1. Hair is a nightmare... if it's short we want it long. If it's curly we wish it were straight. : D My hairstyle can only be described as 'Haystack'.

  4. No truer words have ever been spoken about bangs! One day, perfect. The next, hanging over my eyes and I can't see a thing! I have attempted to cut mine once. Recently. I thought they looked alright. At my next hair appointment, the gal cutting my hair asked me if I trimmed them myself. I had to fess up....guess it was pretty obvious. Ooops.

  5. Having a fringe is really a popular hairstyle. Almost everyone is getting it, from kids up to elderly people. Hahaha! Anyway, it’s nice to know that you cut your own hair, and that you’re quite satisfied with the results. It’s always great to save a few bucks, if we can style our own hair, right? In any way, thanks for sharing that! All the best!

  6. Cutting your own ‘fringe’ for styling purposes will help you a lot in saving money. As we all know, going to salon may come with an expensive price. Well, yours turned out nicely. Cheers to that, Debs!
